The moon has captivated mankind since the beginning of time. As kids (and adults) we would gaze up at the moon and let our imaginations wonder. For most of man’s history, he wondered what it would be like to explore the moon and someday travel their. National Geographic has come up with an educational toy allowing your children to capture some of this adventure in their own rooms. It is authentically detailed and projects an image of the moon, as it really is. Twelve different moon phase settings allow you to simulate what the actual moon looks like outside. In addition to the educational value, it has two other benefits…Firstly the Wow Factor, it’s just cool and a number of customers have commented on using it as a nightlight. Definitely not your run of the mill nightlight.

Also included is a remote control. The remote is pretty small, so care must be taken to make sure it isn’t lost. I would suggest possibly including a little piece of Velcro on the back of the remote and make a permanent place to stick it when not in use. It is powered by batteries, so having some rechargeable ones would save you some money.

There is also a audio only CD which provides a little teaching lesson about the moon.
